Eligibility Criteria & Age Limit
For admission in Navodaya Vidyalaya, the age of the students should be between 10 and 12 years. Only those children who were born between 1 May 2014 and 31 July 2016 can apply. Apart from this, it is mandatory for the child to study in class 5 in a recognized school in the same district where the Navodaya Vidyalaya is located. The special thing is that students from rural areas will be given priority in this.
Selection Process & Exam Pattern
Students will be selected through Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya Selection Test (JNVST). This exam will be conducted in two phases. The first phase will be held in December and the second in April. The duration of the exam will be 2 hours and a total of 80 multiple choice questions will be asked in it. The paper will include all three sections – mental ability, arithmetic and language. The good thing is that there will be no negative marking in it. Divyang students will be given additional 40 minutes of time.
Documents required for application
At the time of online application, candidates have to upload scanned copies of some important documents. These include student’s passport size photo, signature, birth certificate, residence certificate and study certificate certified by the school headmaster. All documents should be in JPG format and the file size must be kept between 10KB to 100KB. Aadhar card is not mandatory at the time of application, but it will be necessary to show at the time of selection.

The online application process is quite simple. First of all, candidates have to visit the official website of Navodaya Vidyalaya navodaya.gov.in. On the homepage, you will find the link of “Class 6 Admission”, by clicking on which you have to register. After registration, you will get login ID and password. Now fill all the information asked in the form and upload the necessary documents. Once you check all the information, submit the form and take a printout of it, so that it can be shown in future if needed.
