Free Laptop Scheme: To encourage students who perform well in class 10th and 12th, all state governments across the country are running a free laptop and tablet distribution scheme. Under this scheme, after the results of class 10th and 12th are declared, the merit list of students scoring good marks is released and they are given free laptop or tablet. Under this, some state governments are currently planning to give tablets, which the students can carry with them anywhere.
In the present time, in the growing digital age, it has become necessary for everyone to have a laptop or tablet. Under this, laptop or tablet is also required for higher level studies. In view of this, the state governments are giving free laptop or tablet to the students who score good marks in class 10th and 12th for further studies. The main objective of this scheme is to encourage students for higher education and financial assistance is also being provided to the students of weaker sections.
Features of the scheme
Under the Free Laptop Distribution Scheme, students securing good marks in class 10th and 12th are being given the benefit of this scheme, under which some state governments are also providing an amount of ₹25000 for buying a laptop or tablet. Under this, the state governments are providing free laptops or tablets to students securing more than 75% marks in class 12th and some governments are also providing a cash amount of ₹25000 to the student to buy the laptop of his/her choice.
Under this scheme, last year Rajasthan and other state governments distributed tablets for free, in which internet facility for 3 years was also kept free; last year tablets with 4G internet connectivity were given for 3 years. Apart from this, some state governments also provide benefit of this scheme to candidates from reserved categories on securing 60% marks, and the Uttar Pradesh state government is providing smartphones for free through Swami Vivekanand Yojana to connect girl students with higher education. The students currently studying can avail the benefits of this scheme.
Different state governments have set different criteria for the benefit of free laptop tablet distribution scheme. According to which, it is given by most state governments to the native students of the state who score 75% or more marks in 12th class. Apart from this, the annual income of their family should be 2 lakhs or less and no member of the family should be employed in government service. Apart from this, smartphones or tablets are being given for free under Swami Vivekanand Yojana, for which minimum 60 percent marks have been set. Thus, there are different criteria according to different state governments.
How to check name in the list?
Students do not need to apply for this scheme run by the Rajasthan government. The list of eligible students will be released by the government on the official website of the Shala Darpan portal.
Apart from this, the list of eligible beneficiaries has been issued by the MP State Government, to check which the candidate will need the 12th roll number.
