Aadhar Card Rule : Many new rules related to Aadhar card have been implemented by the Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) which is necessary for every citizen to know. The main purpose of these changes is to strengthen the security of Aadhaar and increase its utility. The most important change is that now it will not be possible to file income tax returns or apply for PAN card using the enrollment number.
Enrollment Number Limits
According to the new rule applicable from October 2024, the enrollment number given to the person who applies for Aadhaar card will no longer be able to avail various government services. Earlier, people could file tax returns and get PAN card using the enrollment number given in the slip received immediately after applying for Aadhaar. Now these facilities can be availed only after receiving the original Aadhaar card.
Mandatory update every ten years
According to the new guidelines of UIDAI, it will now be mandatory to update the Aadhaar card every ten years. This rule is especially applicable to those individuals who got their Aadhaar card made before the age of fifteen. In this process, personal information and address will have to be re-verified. This step has been taken to maintain the accuracy and up-to-dateness of the Aadhaar database.
Enhanced digital features
Under the new system, people will now be able to make many changes in their Aadhaar card online from home. Information such as address, mobile number and email address can be easily updated through the official website of UIDAI or the mobile Aadhaar app. However, it will still be necessary to visit the nearest Aadhaar center to change biometric information.
Strict document quality checks
Under the new rules, strict standards have also been set regarding the quality of documents. Now all the documents that will be uploaded must be completely clear and readable. Documents with blurred photographs or incomplete information will be rejected immediately. This will increase the reliability of the Aadhaar database.
Safety Tips
Common citizens are advised to keep their Aadhaar card information with complete security. Do not share your Aadhaar number or OTP with anyone. It is necessary to keep the mobile number linked to Aadhaar so that the OTP coming in the verification process can be received on time. If your Aadhaar is more than ten years old, then it should be updated immediately.
These new rules are an important step towards making the Aadhaar system even more robust and reliable. Citizens should adapt to these changes and update their documents on time. This will avoid any kind of inconvenience in the future.
