B.Ed D.El.Ed New Rule : Taking a significant step towards quality improvement in the Indian education system, the Ministry of Education and the National Council for Teacher Education have introduced new and strict guidelines for teacher training courses from the year 2025. These changes are not only to improve the quality of education but also to ensure that our country gets qualified and trained teachers in the future.

These new rules will affect all students who are planning to enroll in teacher training courses like B.Ed or D.El.Ed. This change was necessary because the quality of teacher training had declined in the last few years and many institutes were only doing the work of handing out degrees.

Restrictions on doing two courses at the same time

The most important change is that now no student will be able to pursue two teacher training courses at the same time. This means that if you are pursuing B.Ed then you cannot pursue D.El.Ed simultaneously and vice versa. This decision has been taken so that students can focus their full attention on a single course and gain in-depth knowledge in it.

Earlier many students used to do both the courses together to save time, but due to this they were neither able to get proper training nor were they able to gain expertise in any one subject. Under the new rule, students will have to choose only one course at a time and complete it with full dedication.

Priority given to practical training

To become a teacher, not only theoretical knowledge is sufficient but practical experience is also very important. Keeping this in mind, now a provision of six months compulsory internship has been made in both B.Ed and D.El.Ed courses. This internship will have to be done in the form of teaching in real schools where the student will get the experience of the real classroom environment.

During this practical training, the future teachers will learn how to teach children of different levels, how to maintain discipline in the classroom and how to use teaching materials effectively. This experience will help them to become a better teacher in the future.

Requirements for recognized institutions

To ensure quality education, now only those courses done from institutions which have official recognition of NCTE will be recognized. In the last few years, it was seen that many private and illegal institutions were running teacher training courses without any recognition and giving useless degrees to the students.

Now before taking admission in any institute, students will have to ensure whether the institute is recognized by NCTE or not. Information about this can be obtained from the official website of NCTE. Degrees obtained from invalid institutes will no longer be accepted in any government or private job.

New restrictions on online education

In the era of modern technology, the importance of online education has increased, but a completely online medium is not suitable for professional courses like teacher training. According to the new rules, now only some parts of theoretical subjects can be taught online. Internship, practical work and classroom teaching practice must be completely offline.

This change is necessary because to become a teacher, personal contact, interaction with children and understanding the classroom environment is necessary which is not possible only through online medium. Future teachers should get the experience of working in real conditions.

Important Tips for Students

After the implementation of these new rules, students will have to be more careful while planning their career. Before taking admission in any institute, it is necessary to get complete information about its recognition, fee structure, internship arrangements and course duration.
