NEET UG Counseling:  NEET UG exam is conducted for admission to medical and dental courses in the country. Every year lakhs of students appear in this exam. After that the result is released and the counseling process is conducted. In this counseling process, some changes are made from time to time by the Medical Counseling Committee so that it can be made more efficient and transparent. Under that, some changes have been made this year as well, according to which the notice of the counseling process has also been issued.

The counseling process for the candidates under the NEET UG exam will start from 21st July 2025, which will have to be done on the basis of the scheduled schedule. This time the counseling process will be done in a total of four rounds, which will include first, second, third and stray vacancy rounds. Under this, the process of choice filling and seat allotment at the time of registration has been kept completely online. After seat allotment, physical report will also have to be done in the institute for the admission process through document verification. For this, this facility has been kept online for the students so that it can be made easier and more accessible and students from far-flung areas can also participate in the counseling process.

NEET UG Counseling New Change

Changes have been made this year in the NEET UG exam, which is divided into two main categories, 15% All India quota seats and 85% state quota seats are allotted. Under this, counseling is done by MCC for the seats. This includes 15% seats for government colleges and seats for central universities. Apart from this, counseling is conducted by the authority for the remaining 85 percent state quota seats.

This year, provision for a special stray vacancy round has also been made in the NEET UG Counseling process, in which the seats that remain vacant even after the main 3 rounds will be filled and the seats reserved for deemed universities and AIIMS will be filled. Its main objective is that no medical seat of any kind should remain vacant and maximum number of students can be given the opportunity of admission.

Counselling Process Schedule

The schedule for the counseling process for NEET UG 2025 has been released in which the dates have been released for All India Quota Deemed University Central University and State Quota. In which the first round of counseling will be held from 21st July to 30th July at the state level, while the counseling of Central University in All India Quota will continue from 7th August to 8th August 2025. Candidates from different states will have to get the document verification done for joining between 30th July to 6th August and verification by MCC will be done between 13th August to 14th August, while the last date for joining the college in the first round has been kept as 6th August at the state level and 12th August at the all India level.

The counseling process for the second round will continue from 12 August to 20 August at the state level and from 30 August to 1 September for All India Star. For this, the last date for joining has been kept as 29 August at the state level and 4 September 2025 at the all India level. At the same time, the counseling process for the third round will be organized between 3 September to 10 September and at the all India level between 19 September to 21 September. In this round, document verification for joining will have to be done between 9 to 18 September and verification will be done by MCC till 24 September 2025. For this, the last date for joining at the state level has been kept as 18 September and at the all India level as 23 September.

After these three rounds, the stray vacancy round will be organized which will be held from 22 to 26 September at the state level and from 25 to 29 September at the all India level. The last date for joining for this round has been kept as 3 October.

Other information

Thus, the academic session will start on 1st September 2025 for this year and all the guidelines have also been given in which keeping in mind the limited time, the institute will consider Saturdays and Sundays as working days even on gazetted holidays so that the NEET UG Counseling process can be completed as soon as possible.
