PM Krishi Sinchai Subsidy: Pradhan Mantri Krishi Sinchai Yojana was started by the Government of India in the year 2015. Under this scheme, farmers are being provided subsidy for irrigation work in agriculture. Its main objective is to promote the use of water by delivering water to every farm. Through this scheme run by the government, subsidy is being given by the government on the purchase of water saving equipment. This will increase agricultural production along with saving water because Per Drop Irrigation Scheme has also been added under this scheme, which will reduce the wastage of water in agriculture and water conservation will also be promoted under it. Farmers are being encouraged to invest in water level irrigation for every farm through various irrigation schemes and related ministries.
Through this scheme, necessary equipment and new policies are being made to deliver water to every farm so that water is saved and farmers are encouraged to do agricultural work as much as possible. This is also an important scheme for water conservation, through which drip and sprinkler irrigation system has also been promoted. Under this, it is an important measure for water conservation by irrigating with modern technology and soil and water conservation based on rainfall and for groundwater level.
Main objective of PM Krishi Irrigation Subsidy Scheme
Through the Pradhan Mantri Krishi Sinchai Yojana, the government is providing subsidy on purchasing the necessary equipment under the modern irrigation project in various states of the country, due to which this scheme has been implemented by the Ministry of Water Resources, River Development and Ganga Conservation. Due to which this scheme will prove to be important for the construction of water sources and repair of water bodies and strengthening the initial water sources. Under this, the Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare has promoted micro irrigation and focused on drip and sprinkling irrigation system, due to which attention is being paid to saving the water of the farmers and doing agriculture with new technology.
Through this, subsidy is being given by the government on buying the latest equipment. This subsidy is given to different farmers separately, who are getting subsidy on such equipment which saves water and by increasing agricultural production, the income of the farmers will also increase. Under this, the labor cost also comes down because there will be no need to install sprinklers in the field again and again. Under this, after setting up once after sowing the crop, one does not have to face any problems related to irrigation till the crop ripens and this will provide an important employment opportunity in rural areas.
How much and how will the subsidy be available
Under this, subsidy of up to 55% is being given to small and marginal farmers, but in some states, provision has been made to give subsidy of 80% to 90%. Apart from this, according to the type of irrigation system, subsidy of 55% to 90% is given for drip irrigation and 60% amount is given by the Central Government and 40% by the State Government. Apart from this, in Union Territories, 100% subsidy is given by the Central Government only. Apart from this, this subsidy may vary according to different states.
To avail the benefits of Pradhan Mantri Krishi Sinchai Yojana, Indian citizens can fill the application form in which the application form is being filled by farmers of all categories and it is mandatory for the applicant to have his own cultivable land and he should have an Aadhar card linked to the bank account so that the subsidy amount can be transferred directly to his account.
