Initially, the Sahara India refund amount was fixed at only ten thousand rupees. Later it was increased to fifty thousand rupees. But considering the increasing demand of investors and their genuine needs, now this amount has been increased to five lakh rupees. The application process for refund is completely online. Investors have to go to Sahara India Refund Portal and click on the option of depositor registration. After this, Aadhaar number and mobile number linked to Aadhaar have to be given. After OTP verification, personal information has to be filled and the concerned cooperative society has to be selected.
Investors should be very careful while uploading all the required documents. All the information written in the documents should be absolutely correct as any kind of error may lead to rejection of the application. Forty-five days are the time limit for the refund process but there may be some delay due to the large number of applications. It is necessary to be patient as the government has promised that all legitimate investors will get their money.
